Get the combined force of a versatile toner and probe, with the Triplett 3388 Fox & Hound HotWire. This live circuit tracing kit includes the Fox HotWire Tone Generator (toner) and the high performance Hound HotWire Inductive Amplifier (probe). Together they generate multiple tones, provide a visual and audible continuity test, integrate True Trace and TripLatch tests, all while utilizing the Hound HotWire’s battery operated handheld probe with Sensitivity Control and Signal Strength Indicator LED. Designed with a built-in LED headlight to illuminate dark areas and reduce florescent light noise, a bandpass filter to reduce unwanted frequencies, an earphone hack for noisy or quiet work areas, and an easy access battery cover to get the job done.

Fox HotWire Features
The Fox HotWire generates Warble or Pulsed Tracing Tones with User Selectable Pitch, an Audible Continuity Test with 120/220 VAC Line Cross Protection, and AF Tracing Tones for use with Inductive Probes. Complete with TrueTrace to positively identify wires when useable, this toner uses a common 9V battery, includes a handy carrying case, and even comes with a 3 year limited warranty.
The Hound HotWire
Adjustable sensitivity, a powerful loudspeaker, and LED Signal Strength Indicator are just a few of the features of the Hound HotWire. This high performance probe also traces wire up to 1000 feet in length and includes an FET and IC Front End. Add in the noise filter, white LED Headlights, Auto-Muting Earphone Jack, and it’s a must have. Best of all the Hound HotWire is rugged and moisture resistant with a mylar cone speaker, a handy carrying case, and a 3 year limited warranty.
Triplett Test Equipment & Tools
Triplett Corporation was founded in 1904 in Bluffton, Ohio by Ray L. Triplett. Triplett’s first innovative product was the “Hot Wire” meter, an electrical test meter housed in a watch case. Innovation continued… the READRITE Model 201 tube tester in the 1920’s, the 1200 series Radio Tuning Tester in the 1930’s, and meters for the U.S. Signal Corps during World War II. In 1955 Triplett launched the renowned Model 310 hand-held analog volt/ohm meter, which is still manufactured and highly sought-after today. Triplett continued to innovate, launching test equipment for mining, railroad, and telecommunications, including the Fox & Hound cable tracing kit. Acquired by Jewell Instruments in 2007, Triplett relocated to Jewell’s manufacturing facility in Manchester, New Hampshire.
